A Dong is located in a strip mall at the corner of Mountain View and Barton. In the phone book they are listed as A Dong II. They did have an original restaurant on South Mount Vernon in Colton but it is long closed. This restaurant is very popular in Loma Linda. I visit mostly at lunch and it is usually packed. My family loves the place, I have some qualms about A Dong. First is the price, it is decently priced with the lunch menu but I think the regular menu prices are too expensive. Second is the service, the food is often slow to arrive and it is hard to pay and get out once finished with the meal. This does not seem to stop the locals from packing the place during lunch.

The Pho is good, lots of meat. The broth is a little sweet for my taste. It is accompanied by a nice side of the usual veggies and spices. I usually order one of the lunch specials. They have a great dish with bits of very tender seasoned cubed steak and onions also the the chicken with baby corn and mushrooms is great. The lunch is served with a small cup of vegetable soup and fried or steamed rice. The portions are small and I am hungry again soon after lunch. The lunch special only runs from 11-2pm. They have a variety of soups on the menu besides Pho. One of my favorites is the Lemon Grass with Shrimp. They have a vegetarian menu section also. Open Monday thru Saturday 11am to 9pm.
