La Costa Restaurant Mariscos, Redlands
La Costa
621 W Colton Ave
Redlands, CA
909 792-1337
La Costa is a small family restaurant located on Colton Avenue between Eureka and Texas. The restaurant has recently reopened after a fire closed it for several months. Since I have been a customer this is the second reopening of La Costa due to fire. It has a bright new look inside, new paint and new decorations on the wall. Fortunately they retained the same friendly staff. Usually La Costa only has one server working so some patience is sometimes required. They serve the standard Sonora style Mexican food along with seafood dishes.
Combination Mazatlan Taco & Chili Rellano $8.95
Small Menudo $5.99
La Costa does Shrimp in a number of ways, with the Siete Mares Soup at $17.95. The portions are good sized, served with rice, a salad garnish and a choice of refried or charros beans. My favorite are the charros beans, spicy sauce and bits of pork make a delicious combination. La Costa can get quite busy, I am always able to get seated without much of a wait. La Costa has a lunch special menu with specials starting at $5.95. I much prefer La Costa over the big chain restaurants. The food is not outstanding but in my opinion is the top ten percent of Inland Empire Mexican Restaurants. It is possible I would rate it higher if I was a seafood aficionado.
