Was visiting Outback in anticipation of the Steak and Lobster they were promoting on their website.

I was excited to see the menu on the website with 15 items under $15.00. Unfortunately our server explained this special was not offered in California. We were quite disappointed. Our last visit to Outback was quite a few years ago. We had not been impressed with the food or prices. This time we left with a better impression and could possibly return in the future.
The restaurant is very clean. Service was prompt and friendly. The decor is Australian themed, shark jaws and the like on the walls for decor.
The server started us out with a nice mini loaf of warm Brown bread and butter. The bread was very good and we had seconds.
Ordered their signature "Bloomin Onion", it is a battered deep fried whole onion. It was crispy and hot, served with a semi spicy sauce. We enjoyed it, too much for the three of us to finish.
The Sirloin Steak was charred on the outside and medium rare as ordered inside. It was served with two sides. The stuffed baked potato was medium sized, the fresh steamed vegetables were very fresh and tasty. The steak was well seasoned and juicy, I would order this item again. The "Chicken on the Barbie" was a char broiled chicken breast with BBQ sauce served on the side. The chicken was a bit dry, the BBQ sauce was nothing special, tasted like typical out of the bottle variety. The crab stuffed shrimp seemed to be a bit small. The accompanying roasted filet was a bit dry. The garlic mashed potatoes did taste of roasted garlic, and were delicious. Overall we were pleased with our meal, though the portions seemed somewhat downsized. Our only complaint is they have a door on the side for take out. Every time the door was opened a cold breeze chilled the restaurant. Our server was very attentive and anticipated our needs. We will keep Outback on our list of dining out alternatives. The San Bernardino location now opens at 11:30 am M-F for lunch.
